The Class I Enjoyed the Most!

The Society and Culture class of STI College- Iloilo last 1st semester of academic year 2008-2009 was the most memorable class for me in my entire stay in STI College.

The class consist of students with varied personalities and attributes ranging from geeks, fratmen, "pawala", beauty contestants both male and female, ugly, beautiful, shy, "baraghal", secretive, mysterious, "tikalon", irritating, boring, "bungisngis", etchetera.

Our class was every Tuesday and Thursday 5:30- 7:00 pm. This was the time wherein I'm always excited because the topics discussed are exciting and I will be able to see my crushes... hahaha.

It challenged me as an educator and as human being... hehehe

It was indeed an experienced to be in that class. I am looking forward that in the coming semesters I will meet these students again who gave me the greatest challenge as teacher and guidance counselor of STI.

I was born in the year of METAL MONKEY!

Personality

Occupying the 9th position on the Chinese Zodiac, the Monkey possesses such character traits as curiosity, mischievousness, and cleverness. Forever playful, Monkeys are the masters of practical jokes. Even though their intentions are always good, this desire to be a prankster has a tendency to create ill will and hurt feelings.

Although they are inherently intellectual and creative, Monkeys at times have trouble exhibiting these qualities. When that happens, they appear to others to be confused. But nothing could be further from the truth as Monkeys thrive on being challenged. Monkeys prefer urban life to rural, and their favorite pastime is people-watching.

Health

Believing that being sick is a waste of a valuable day, Monkeys very rarely feel ill. Their constantly active lifestyles are likely what helps Monkeys remain in good health. When Monkeys do become ill, such feelings are generally the result of feeling nervous.

Career

When it comes to work, Monkeys can do just about anything. They adapt well to changing environments and they’re very intelligent. They work quickly, but they’ll frequently charge double for their services. Good career fields for Monkeys are accounting and banking. Other good careers for Monkeys include: scientist, engineer, stock market trader, air traffic controller, dealer, film director, jeweler and sales representative.

Relationships

When it comes to relationships, Monkeys aren’t quick to settle down. In fact, they generally are promiscuous; a tendency that probably has to do with the fact that Monkeys are easily bored. Monkeys will end this type of behavior once they pair up with the perfect partner. In fact, more often than not, they’ll commit to that person in every way for life.

Metal Monkey

Metal Monkeys are determined and ambitious individuals and as a result, they’re often successful. Although they’re considered warm-hearted and very likeable, their preference in life is to be alone. Metal Monkeys are loyal to both their employers and their partners.

Baby Lil!

Lil will always be my baby!

This song is a reminder that my love for Edward is unending. The degree and intensity may change but one thing is for sure, I will always love this guy wherever I will be and whatever I will become in the future. I love you!

Thesis Dilemma!

I started my graduate studies on the second semester of academic year 2002-2003. I was full of hope and confidence that in two years time I will be able to finish a degree in guidance and counseling.

Fast track. Academic year 2008- 2009, I am still hoping to finish my degree. What went wrong?

When I started schooling everything went well, because during that time I don't have work and the only focus I had is my schooling. Then came an opportunity to work in Harbor Town Hotel, though adjusting everything was fine because I handled things easily.

Then came a teaching post at Iloilo Doctors College, at first everything was okay but because of the work load and pressures as a young educator that was the start of my gradual 'disconnection' with my graduate studies. Eventually, I transferred at STI College-Iloilo and served the institution as guidance counselor and part time teacher. From there, everything went topsy- turvy.

I took my comprehensive exam October 2005 and passed it with bruises and mild depression.

I had my proposal defense March 2007 but until now I am still hoping and continue hoping that I can finish my thesis even without flying colors.

I am desperate to graduate! Help!

I am Sorry!

This is it! I made up my mind! This tumultuous relationship of mine does me no good at all.
It is destroying me as a guidance counselor, teacher and most of all as a person with dignity and pride.

It also destroys the reputation of my students whom I get involved with. I am really sorry for everything that had happened may it be good or bad. The fact that I am a guidance counselor, you deserved some respect and that was one thing I forgot in times that I was in love and out of my mind. I am deeply sorry.

You know who you are, I would not mention names, but the fact remains that in one way or the other I cause you pain or worry, I am really sorry.

This is final, irrevocable and non-negotiable!

Career Guidance in the Mountainous Area of Janiuay

Yesterday was the fiesta of Nuestra Senora De La Candelaria, the Patroness saint of Western Visayas and our schedule for career orientation seminar in Major Manuel Aaron in the mountainous area of Janiuay, Iloilo.

It was such a tiring experience because the school is miles away from the main road- at the end of nowhere in that mountain. We thought all the while that we're lost because it seems that the rough road is endless, until we came across a sign that says, Brgy. Canauili. That gave use hope and confidence that we are on the right track.

On the other hand, just this morning, we had another career orientation seminar in Cabatuan Comprehensive National High School. It was fun experience because aside from the usual talk and interaction with students, students were going gaga over Edward Magallanes, one of the handsome faces in STI- Iloilo.

It was indeed an experience!
