International Volunteering with VSO

VSO bahaginan is a Filipino development organization that works through skilled volunteers to fight poverty in poorer countries around the world.

They conducted an orientation at the conference room of the Iloilo Provincial Capitol to skilled professionals who might consider volunteering internationally.

Atty. Lumbo in hospital

Atty Lumbo is in Mission Hospital for a couple of days because of a horrible car accident. Yesterday we went there to visit him and give moral support to his loving and caring wife Lalaine who happens to be our colleague. Get well attorney!

Mira's Belated Birthday Treat at Club 21

Due to my insistent demand, Mira treated us to a pica-pica at Club 21 at Smallville complex as part of her birthday celebration. Mr and Mrs Ryan Araneta was with us. It was a memorable gathering because it was intimate and very updated with all the latest "chika" including the scandalous video of Dr. Hayden Kho and Katrina Halili. Hahaha!

My 'girlfriend' sulked

My girlfriend Lloyd sulked because of our opposing personality. I am so demonstrative of my love and devotion to him/her while he/she is very conservative. He/she wants everything to be done in private!

I did not know that I was a Ninong/Ninang...

We were invited by our former student couple Ryan Villanueva and Rowena Alag to the baptismal ceremony of their first born baby girl in Guimaras Island. I did not know that I will be a ninong/ninang because I thought it would be a purely moral support "drama". But anyway I was proxy by my 'girlfriend' Lloyd Celis.

Another God-given responsibility.

WVPRISAA Annual Meeting

Just this morning I attended the annual Western Visayas Private School Athletic Association meeting at Iloilo Doctors' College audio-visual room.

We were updated of the year long happening on the previous year. After which is a sumptuous lunch courtesy of Al Dente Ristorante catering services. It was so delicious! Yummy!

SSYEAP Regional Interview

On May 14 2009, I was interviewed by a panel of interviewers from Civil Service Commission, DOT, DSWD, SSYEAP Alumni, and National Youth Commission. This is in part of my application as youth participant in the upcoming Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program to start in Japan and around selected ASEAN countries on board a luxury cruise ship.

Please pray that I will be chosen as one of the youth ambassador of this country!

NSTP and Drug Prevention Live-in Seminar-Workshop

I was tasked by the dean of STI- Iloilo to attend a two-day seminar-workshop on Drug Prevention and how it can be integrated in NSTP classes.

It was held at Iloilo Grand Hotel on May 13- 14, 2009. It was a fruitful and knowledge-filled activity.

Kudos to CHED who organized the event.

A Nerve-Wracking Experience

Second day of our Bora trip was dedicated to boating around the beautiful island but because of the bad weather we were not able to circumnavigate the island but proceeded to some of its part only- like the turtle and crocodile island and crystal cove. The boatman told us that we could not proceed to PUCA island because the waves are huge. But upon our way home we decided to drop by the area where Shangrila Boracay is located and there we experience a nerve-wracking event, a monstrous wave almost hit our tiny banca. Thank God, we were safe although very nervous!
